Keeping Silent #24

A blanket of silence,

so thick almost tangible

exposes truths.

Extinguishing lingering doubts,

it’s a silence within my heart.

Everyone rambles on and on

around me. Never pausing.

But I- I have bliss, serenity and tranquility

Wrapped in a neat bow.

Eternity lies ahead.

Thoughts echo profoundly

Imagination breaks free

from the closet

A mind palace is born.

  1. I love this poem. The power of an introvert…silence is golden! And silence is so productive! I loved the following lines…
    “Thoughts echo profoundly
    Imagination breaks free
    from the closet
    A mind palace is born.”

    Stunning imagery! Beautiful work!

  2. I got goosebumps reading your poem. I do really venerate silence and I think it is sometimes a choice. Personally, I loathe my strident surroundings and I choose to be silent that’s why I can relate.
I loved the vocabulary and the imagery. The poem is really soothing and it somehow put my mind at ease. Thank you so much for this inspiring piece !!

    1. Thank you! 😀
I was aiming to explore silence in a more appreciative way where creativity reigns free, rather than simply being the symptom of fear or anxiety and judging from your views I guess I achieved that.
