Dream Love

She writes an ode to her lover
In the form of a book.
He is there,
Her hero and yet
Not quite a hero,
But he is hers.

She sends out her love
As a whisper to the trees,
And it carries it to him,
On the wind.
Sealed with the kiss,
Given to the moon
For him.

He lives each day,
Not knowing of her longing,
But feeling her love
Surrounding him.
He sends a prayer,
To his lover,
To the universe.
Praying stardust will
Bless her.

He longs for her in a way,
He does not know,
But he feels it deep in his soul.
One day he will find her,
He hopes,
And she prays when he does,
They will dance to nature’s music
Of their Eternal Love.

Long Distance

Lock in the dates,
Count down the time,
And prepare to see your love
Once again.

Map out the route,
Plan all your stops,
And drive until you
Reach them.

Longing and
Road trips,
Flights and
Plans,
Just get to love
As quick as
You can.

Absence,
Makes us fond
But it causes wandering hearts
To move on.
And we break, each time
Because we grew tired
And lonely
In a relationship that
Spanned the globe.

The screen grew cold.
And the phone stops ringing,
When you give in.
So, rush, to your love
As fast as you can.

Soulmates

Unconventional,
That is how we describe ourselves.
We are not typical of
Other people like us.

We were beautiful,
Long,
Years over what we should be.
We passed an expiration date,
I never knew
But others informed me about,
Repeatedly.

Years passed us by
One to two
Became ten.
We made it to that
Until our bitter
End.
In death,
We parted.
And our love
Remained.
Forever unchanged!

Ashes

Torn apart
By words on a page,
On a picture,
By you.
Destruction of the person,
You once loved
To make you the victim.

I’m ash,
Surrounded by the flames,
Of the lies, you have told.
Bleeding from word bullets,
From people, I have never met.

Our love,
Relegated to,
The wish I never
Pile.
Was it, truth?
Was I a lie?

Destroyed!
Broken but
I will find a way to
Rise again.
A Phoenix,
Of Love.

Safe

I run from love.
Like a coward,
I run at even the mention of it.
Too much,
Pain
In love,
Has made life safer
When love is more,
Fantasy
Than Reality.
So, I create a new kind
Of love for me.
Through, correspondence
Which they call social,
But truly is
Lonely.

I hide from a life,
Outside my words.
They are safe,
You are not.
So, I run from you.

Same

I sent my love
In a letter.
In the letter, I said
I couldn’t wait to see you again.
I waited for a response,
And hoped you would send me
words to soothe my soul.
What I got was,
Same.

Same,
One word,
That makes me see a million in my head.
One word,
That drives me
Crazy.
I ask friends
What it means for our love
And they look at me with pity.

Same,
Means so much and
Nothing at the same time.
I send you another letter,
Waiting for the same
Feeling,
But expect you to say the
Same thing again.
Just one word,
That means nothing,
And everything.

Same,
Has become our word of love.

A Fictional Love

I read about you,
And you seem real,
But I know it isn’t,
And yet I fall for it,
And love you
In my way.

I follow you somewhere,
And get excited,
By a word,
Or a mention from you.
Knowing, behind the scenes,
It wasn’t you.
It was another.

It’s not real,
But feels so crazy.
I feel like it is enough to take my soul
And crush it.
Reality
Versus
Fiction
Is Love in the modern age.
A person, a character, a life,
Unreal to others,
But a safety net to me.
