Sixteenth poem

I love delicious tea
with tags of hope
and fun for me
that help to cope
on days I’m not free
to just say nope.

It was a nope
when without tea
I couldn’t cope
and inside me
was shrinking hope
for I could be free.

I yearn to be free
and void their nope,
bold on tea,
that helps me cope
for who would expect me
to give up on hope.

But is that hope
what makes me free
what if it’s nope
does my tea
which helps me cope
lie to me

But inside me
I know my hope
isn’t in my tea
but in my heart. Nope,
the tea is free
from duty to help me cope.

For I’ll always cope
and you’ll see me
manifest hope
completely free
of anything, so nope,
I cannot blame the tea.

So with tea I may cope
but my hope is just me
I choose free over nope

Fifteenth poem

No matter the distance,
No matter how long,
I will not desert you,
I’m here till the end.

I’ll give you assistance,
I’ll right every wrong.
Above all else that’s true,
I love my best friend.

Fourteenth poem

A milkshake can taste like a dream
Made right, they’re more than they seem.
Share with your love if you’re able.
Like making love on the table
And sometimes it’s better with whipped cream.

Thirteenth poem

I wander down this path and see.
Another choice I need to make.
A split in the road just ahead of me.
Not the first I’ve seen, not the last to be.
And it’s always hard to know which to take.

Sometimes they wrap back up around
Meeting with the other choice.
But some are harder than they sound
And I fear I won’t be found
Before I lose my voice.

Twelfth poem

Muscles tense
The precipice of motion.
Feeling the energy press
Potential begging to become kinetic.
The desire to move, to rise, to jump, to fall.
Hold it in, how much longer.
Live in the moment, then let it give way.

Eleventh poem

An accessory for our purses.
A symbol of our wealth.
The actors in our movies.
And soldiers in our wars.
Did you stop being animals,
Or did we just forget?

Tenth poem

Autobiography of a Face

How long I have been a window to this world,
So many years have passed by.
Yet thinking of other faces I’ve known,
I tell the body to push on with a sigh.

Ninth poem

Boring people,
boring lives,
boring dates,
the city.

Superficial cares,
and superficial stares.
Do you have an original thought?

Wearing a mask,
playing a part,
dinner, dessert, goodnight.

“You’re cute,”
“You’re hot,”
I’d rather be shot.
I know what I want, you’re not.

Depth, care,
Wisdom, and sass.
Motivation, desire for more.

Eighth poem

We need shelter, food, and hope from above.
We need desire, motivation, an encouraging shove.
We need to own our flaws, take off the kid gloves.
We need beauty and joy we can’t get enough of.
We need empathy, sympathy, kindness, and love.

Seventh poem

Hard rain dives through dark branches.
Enveloping darkness surrounds
As invisible clouds devour the moon and stars.
Waters rush by,
Urging everything downhill.
Cool, wet diamonds coat the skin.
On the warm summer night,
The solitude is bliss.
