Prompt 23 (hour #5 2020) Roots

So this year I thought I’d shake things up a bit and challenge myself, so I am mixing up the prompts and attempting them in no organised order I am simply following where my heart guides me
Also my original idea was to get the words on the image itself which I terribly failed at.  🙁

They’re all roots darling,
we are all deeply connected to the cosmos.
up high -reaching for the sky
the other is beneath the ground we tread..

Our journeys may vary
but our destination is the same..
We’re all headed in the same direction.

We meet in full circles
living our lives
Another trip around the sun.
We rejoice and mourn,
we feel everything so deeply,
we bleed, burn, still we rise.
we cry, lose,
we fight and fail.
we are continually growing towards the sun.
We reunite and we connect.

We’re all roots darling.

prompt no 22

Something about the way you look at me
You see right through my facade and bullshit.
You crumble me down to the bone.
My soul recognizes you as a familiar stranger.
Your gaze makes me feel so vulnerable and raw.
I am falling into pieces, won’t you come save me?

Micro poem #1

To have hope in your heart is strength in itself.

Micro poem #2

The light never died,
It was inside you all along.

Prompt no 21 Human Craving

I crave deep, meaningful connections.
I long for honest, unfiltered conversations.
With absolutely anyone who is willing to pour their heart out.

In the age of social distancing,
I miss human touch,
the healing power of a hug,
the warmth in a handshake;
the reassurance and confidence
that lies in the firm, confident grip.

I crave unique communications that expands beyond mere words.

While everybody is busy hoarding up,
I have learned the harsh reality of greed
and it has the capacity to erase humanity.

But I still crave the human touch.
I want to feel human again…

Alas! The immune system isn’t immune to everything.

Prompt 18 Ramblings

You pull me in

You take me down

You sink me to the bottom

of your wondrous layers.

The deeper I sink,

the more you reveal.

I want to get lost in your revelations.

Prompt 17 Solitude (2014 prompt – solitude)

Prompt for Hour Seventeen

For your seventeenth prompt I want you to write a poem about solitude. It could be a poem about solitude under normal circumstances or it could be a poem about extreme solitude, for example being a hermit, or the last person on a life boat.

I am comfortable in my solitude.
I keep myself occupied
with many things to reflect upon as well explore.
I am my own best friend.
Solitude is my companion.
I want to discover different aspects
of the capacities of my solitude and push myself.
I use this space to listen to what the universe is telling me.

Prompt16 Library

A wonderland of sorts awaits me patiently

organized and in rows all ready to be read.

I feel rich at heart with the wonder that surrounds me,

Who wouldn’t want to live for an eternity

surrounded by such a creative space.
I can’t wait to unleash my insatiable desire for stories and art.
I want to create and reinvent myself in this sacred space of art and creation.

I want to get lost in a book and sing myself to sleep.

Prompt 15 sweet dreams

I gazed at him

Tightly tucked

In his blanket

As his eye lashes took

The night off

The whole world

That surrounds me

The air, the quiet,

Stopped dead in their tracks

Momentarily as if lending me

The opportunity to capture

It for an eternity’s keepsake.

No worries threatened to

Crease his brow

No wrinkles dared to crumple

He is such an angel when he’s asleep.

Prompt14 (2014 hour 14 )

Prompt for Hour Fourteen

Write a poem from the third person perspective about something that happened to you personally.

You see…
She tends to internalize every emotion.
Latches on, relates at a deeper level than you and me.
She is a highly sensitive soul.

You got to be gentle with her,
She breaks easily.
Her beautiful heart is an ocean of emotions.

She has compassion and empathy overflowing,
some may take advantage of that.
She is vulnerable but immensely strong.

She can read vibes and energy and words don’t fool her.
She hates small talk and will get straight to the matter of it.
