Poem 4– “Where Is My Inspiration?”

Where is my support

When I’m buried deep,

So deep in my struggles?

I cry for you,

I scream for you,

I knocked really hard,

But YOU won’t answer.

Do you hear me?

Or are you listening at all?

When I can’t see my way,

And need aspiration,

I wonder, I think

Where is my inspiration?

Poem 3 – Before Darkness

Before the daylight ends,

I will shed light and spread love on the hurt

That shattered your imagination,

Smashed your inspiration today.

But I can’t give light or love

Unless you I spread my heart in those shallow places you forbid my presence.

Without your permission, there’s

No path that allows me to enter.

Before you vanish into dark places

And hid the best in you,

I desire to pull you so close

You’d never want to leave.

But you won’t let me!

I loved you,

You only liked me.

Yet I am the love and light

That suffers from your poor choices

Before darkness.

Poem 1– Tension in a Poem

I write many days,

Overwhelmed with thoughts,

Spilling out secrets too big for paper,

Crying out pain never spoken to close loves.

I dare not lie from my mouth,

Yet my pen understands my exaggerating cries.

Then one day,

An awesome challenge falls in my lap,

Waiting to held,

Overflowing with opportunity,

Suddenly I wake up surprised,

Realizing I was dreaming,

It all felt real,

The dream was so exciting,

It all happened while I slept.

I reached for my pen,

Suddenly nothing,

Absolutely nothing comes out…

Ahhhhh…OMG!

All this tension over a damn poem!

Poem 2 — “Life Of An Unborn Song”

It desires to live,

Breathing the life no one knows,

Shoving love in hidden places,

Forbidding to speak aloud.

No one knows its pain,

Yet they have hurt the same .

No one understands its value,

But they love everything about it,

Everything they’ve never heard

Until one day it speaks the truth,

It composes the unknown,

  • And it begins to live the life an unborn song never had.

Introducing LadyOfPoetry

Hello Fellow Marathoners!

It is a privilege to join this unique challenge. I am Shaunton, a creative writer, poet, and blogger. My passion as a writer grew when I was in high school. During those years, I wrote poetry as therapy. Over the years, I have written and recited poems to enlighten special events such as weddings, funerals and private parties for family, friends, and former colleagues. I am able to listen to a brief story about someone and write a poem as if I totally understand their emotions.

If I could describe my poetry in three words, I’d say it is INSPIRATIONAL, POSITIVE and EMOTIONAL. Although each writer has his or her own style, I always enjoy reading and/or listening to other poets. I look forward to reading as much of your works as possible. I hope to enjoy this experience.

Best wishes to each of you!

Shaunton
