3rd poem – hour 3 – Marathon – Light must be allowed

Light must be allowed

She watched the merry tree

In the distance dancing to the music of a distant land

She watched the dying tree cover scars in a bitter land

Light must be allowed

But by vibe and constant want of it

Not want to aid another in the tuned having of it

The merry tree watches the moonlight

As it takes its silver tears that wash with his discord

It takes forked pen to hoe the ground on a heavy road

Light must be allowed

But by vibe and constant want of it

Not want to aid another in the tuned having of it

Then it hoes its silent misgivings deep into the earth’s crust

Looking for the piece on the outside that perhaps it can trust

Then tires from the struggle and his mother finally hears a song

Light must be allowed

But by vibe and constant want of it

Not want to aid another in the tuned having of it
