Thank you! The poem is meant to read the way it does. Not only is the collection of poems a reflection on modern love, but it also is the modern distractions and the fleeting nature of today’s society. Some poems will reflect this more in this collection, and others will have little elements of it.

I think we all live with that pain in a way. The what-ifs in life always haunting us. Hopefully, you find that peace in your choices. Hugs to you.

I think that is a blessing in our lives. To let go of these past loves. It frees us from these chains we created; that hold us in this place where we can never move forward completely. It’s beautiful to set the love free in the universe. I’m glad you were able to get that closure.

    Thank you!

  • I look for you.
    A status on a timeline.
I look for you and your stories.
    I search for you among
    The masses,
Hoping to find you are well.

I think of you when a picture comes up.
    I laugh and […]

    • Great idea and imagery.

    • Dear Acheairs,

Your poem is strangely reminiscent of a dream I had two weeks ago. I wrote a poem called “Closure”, and very painful, as it were, to admit that for all these many years, I kept hidden in my heart an undying love for the soulmate of my life. I released him and feel a gentle, yet complete closure.

    • Yaaas! I am certain the other personal received the release as well.

  • Tapping keys turn to
Love over time. But is it
    Going to last long?

  • Meeting you was a joy.
    A heart, a smile, laughter,
    And peace.
    Loneliness,
    Pushed away,
    By you.

    You understood my dark
    Moments
    And sent me joy to
    Help me survive.

We weren’t what we could be
    But we w […]

  • Cold nights in the dark,
    Desert reminds me of the
    Beauty of true love.

  • Danced with the devils,
    Sat with some angels,
    And I found my soul.

    I found my yesterdays,
    And my todays,
    Possibly my tomorrow.
    Filled with joy,
    With each of them.

    I sang to the moon,
    Cried to the […]

  • Ghosts in love. Slowly
    Disappear into this fake
    Place, filtered and cold.

  • Breath in once again.
The words are hollow and full
    Of Lies. Let them go.

  • A series of unfortunate events
    Turned love
    Into
    Bitter hate.
    Misunderstandings,
    And setups.
    Create a fire so massive,
    Love cannot
    Live here
    Anymore.

    • You had me at he moves on… and in the papertrail. Oh goodness, I see and hear what I can only display behind my eyes. Tears and pain. Maybe I m still living with deep regret. Like 40 years of letting THE one get away. DAMN!

    Finding love has become
    A crazy thing,
    With hearts and

    And being flirty.

  • She locked herself away,
    In sadness
    Over him.
    This never was,
    Is a never will be
    And her heart broke
    A million times
    When they spoke his name.

    She had this idea,
    About him.

In the form of a book.
    He is there,
    Her hero and yet
    Not quite a hero,
    But he is hers.

    She sends out her love
As a whisper to the trees,
And it carries it to him,

    Count down the time,
And prepare to see your love
    Once again.

    And drive until you
    Reach them.

    Longing and
    Road trips,

    • How true! There’s a lovely control of pace in this poem – I was especially struck my the shortened lines in stanza three which create the sense of need, of maintaining that connection – which contrasts with the following stanza (more quietly reflective and sad) discussing (from experience) how fragile these cross-globe connections can be. Loved it!
