I like this poem. We are losing so much over the eons including our imaginations. So sad. So true. Wonder if we can dream back what we have lost?

Nice imagery. I did get a bit stuck on the line “Out of many one- you die with no heart”. Perhaps it needs a comma after “man” or it needs “one-” to be deleted.

Danielle Wong commented on the post, Heat Tide (Poem #10) 8 months ago
I really like the references to nursery rhymes. Sometimes I feel the summer heat melts my mind back into the simpler times.
Favorite lines:
“Sun blazing like wild fire
causing a lot of sweat to flow like a river” -
Danielle Wong commented on the post, Sleep (Poem 17) 8 months ago
I love this fight with sleep! So often throughout my life these words would fit me:
“Oh sleep why won’t you leave me alone
Oh sleep I need to press along” -

Good reminder of how today’s children are not experiencing the world the way we did when we were young.

I like how you announce each place and repeat the whole hand washing regiment. It must be crazy with little kids. Just remembering how mine were back then. This poem is like a series of snapshots in a photo album!

Danielle Wong commented on the post, Prompt 7 Poem #7 by Ingrid Exner 2020 "Season of the Birds" 8 months, 1 week ago
“Something is a-foul” is a wonderful pun in the poem! Great rhythm. It sounds like the birds have returned and are claiming back some of their old territory over there. I think it is the most wondrous thing, except I do know how ornery those geese can get.

I love the imagery. My favourite part is “glistening waterfalls/
Ignite my path”. I can send the shimmer of the water falling lighting where you are going and you are following the water happily. -
Danielle Wong commented on the post, Maybelle 8 months, 1 week ago
Your admiration for your Aunt Maybelle is apparent; I, too, am in awe of this wonderful person. I wish it were possible for me to meet her. At least, you see your aunt in your children. She will never be that far away. This poem put a smile.on my face. Thank you.
