I love this! The generation divide made clear by language leftovers from technologies they don’t know.

A very clear picture is painted for me as I read this. I recognize these feelings, this kind of moment and the small details like the description of the perfume and unknown smell in the bathroom stall really puts me in the moment.

This poem really struck a chord for me. I’m having difficulty naming it exactly but it is that sense of loss and association of relationship with gardening. I really like the lines ” Daughters, we
Learn, to tend the darker things
To weed. Garden till youโre feeling grounded.”
This has been a literal experience for me – weeding in despair. T…[Read more] -

Great imagery. This poem has a feeling of both familiarity and mystery. The ending leaves me wondering if I am certain what it means– which I love in a poem — to be left pondering and re-reading. Lovely!

I really like the line “To zoom past the fears and onto the healing”. It expresses for me the theme of the ways humans avoid dealing with past emotion/ trauma.

Usually, eternity sounds daunting to me but your poem gives the perfect reason to want it- endless books to read ๐ I especially like this line- “I want to create and reinvent myself in this sacred space of art and creation.”

I really liked the impact of these images. Some are the kind I read and think, yes, a perfect metaphor! And others are the kind that leaves me rolling it over and over again in my mind trying to understand and I love that! Wonderful!

Thank you! and I am also a fan of the twisted angle — at least in art and poetry.

Your poem expresses well the emotional intensity in the days just after 9/11 which I can imagine was so heightened getting on a plane at that time.

I like the power and directness evoked by the repeated sentence structures. The progression of the poem takes us from what happens to her, to what she decide to how she takes her power. I really like this poem and spent some time with it.

I like the way you contrast the cooperative nature of the siphonophore to human individualism. Beautifully expressed.
