Sugar the kind you press to your lips and crave like an addiction
Sugar the pacing and scouring kind the hormones indecision
Sugar can’t pick one maybe wants them all or maybe none
Sugar drape yourself in black and spill it sweetly from your poverty
Sugar they’ll give to you if you ask nicely sugarcoat you if you earn it
Sugar high on power like a junkie sugar fiend hunt it down like sticky black
Sugar black to shove in vein sugar stabbing speaks your name
Sugar come down sugar safety sugar illusion of control
Sugar sticking to your teeth sugar sink teeth into a throat
Sugar I was in control and now can’t stop it’s got control of me
Sugar black illusion sugar seeping into each cavity
Sugar let me see that smile sugar place a hand on sugar shoulder
Sugar pay the bills and leave me be unless you need something
Sugar dear more sugar here don’t let them see the sugar fear
Sugar bitter when afraid sugar love gets sugar paid
Sugar mix me in the corners like a secret like a skeleton
Sugar skin let me in sugar pin me like a butterfly
Sugar lie to me and tell me we’ll always be friends

  1. Evolutionary biology pushes us to crave the sweet, as it is so rare in nature and helps us survive. Now the most impoverished diets are the sweetest, it takes so long to learn we don’t need the sweetness we crave. That we will survive much longer NOW without it.
