Truth

speak the truth, do not stray
lies deceive
do you not know this is the truth?

you keep the lies at bay
do perceive
develop this skill in your youth

people will trust in you
they will know
fail and suffer the reckoning

the truth they will pursue
toe-to-toe
welcome to the awakening

life is full of shared lies
shared again
persuasiveness is what they gain

work the truth, lies will die
truth will strain
and under the strain truth finds the prize

Being Chased by Love

The colors swam
Before my eyes
Purples reds and golds
Kaleidoscopic visions
That solidified into one

It was her
In the middle of it all
The most unattainable goddess
Of beauty, light, and love
And she was holding out her arms to me
The most unworthy of supplicants
To hold me
To cradle me
And tell me that I was hers

I turned away in fear
I ran far and fast
I saw blacks and greys
I saw the whole world in blacks and greys
Nothing could compare to her
Nothing would correct my vision but her

Still I ran
I ran fast and far
I ran to the highest mountains
I dove into the blackest caverns
I saw the world in shades of white and shadow
Still nothing could compare to her
Nothing was as beautiful as her

I was walking through a field of flowers
On a windy day in spring
I cried because I could only see white and grey
I turned
My vision was filled with her red hair
Her porcelain face
Her green eyes
The swirls of purple and gold on her dress
She held out her arms to me
And held me in a field of daffodils

She had chased me
Her most unworthy supplicant
Through every trial and and mountain and valley and cavern
She had chased me
She healed me
And now she holds me
Tight
In arms that I never want to escape

Schedule

I see you

Hiding behind your busy schedule

Never making time

Someday you’ll realize

We only have so much time

I wonder if you’ll regret how you spent it.

Dear Sleep,

You keep wooing me and I keep saying no.

No. No. NO!

Well maybe.

But stop laying there in my bed telling me that the pillow is soft.

I should rest my head. And you will wake me when its 3.

Signed,

Me

Dandelions

My daughter loves them

she calls them beautiful flowers

they have always been my favorite

hard to maintain and fruitful

bearing seeds that spread like wildfire

food to the flesh and to the soil

growing uncontrollably

only recently have they been seen as less than

something to kill

because they stubbornly misbehave

and grow wherever the wind blows the seeds

My Growing Girl

Wandering hands

curious minds

observant eyes

growing girl.

It’s happening fast

This stage won’t last

I’m not ready

She can’t wait.

Everyday is an opportunity

A learning experience

A hint of magic

A reason to smile.

You?

Everyday

Twenty-four hours

So much is possible

But everyday I wake up

I do the same tasks from the day before

Wash the dishes, bathe the kids, wash the laundry, make the meals

Each day has a new responsibility

Adding to my neverending, overwhelming list

No one told me it’d be like this

I guess I should have guessed

But I never knew it was so lonely

Joining Motherhood.

And everyday brings a new memory

A new reason to smile

It’s not an easy life

But it’s mine and I love it.

Keep Your Word

Keep your word,  not promises to be made.

Keep your word,  for that is  what a person is based.

Keep your word,  not hollow speeches for people to listen to.

Keep your word,  and people will respect you.

Keep your word,  and you will find yourself ~

More.

Keep your word and love will find you.

Keep your word and honesty will flow from your mouth.

Keep your word,  and your divine self you will have found.

By keeping your word, your thoughts shall be clear.

By keeping your word,  honesty follows,  and there is nothing you shall fear.

Keep your word,  totally in your heart…
