Educator. Spoken Word Poetess. Globetrotter. Writer. Daughter. My first book of poems was published 2 years ago and I want to do this marathon to mentally prepare myself (and oil these fingers) for my second book of poems.

I am a 57 year old beach grandma that now has custody of my four year old, grandson so I'm an active mom again with little time to write. We live in a tiny trailer with our massive dog very close to the beach here on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. This is my first time entering the Marathon and I'm looking forward to both writing and being read again.

I am mahnoor raza, a medical student. I have great passion for writing. I firmly believe in "sit down at a typewriter and bleed." Writing for me is like another world. My write-ups and poetry has been published in various magazines and blogs. I am here to participate in 12 hour poetry marathon.

I am a self published Author/Poet from providence Rhode island, however I now live in Atlanta and have been for fifteen years. Poetry is one of my biggest passions, I have been writing and entering contests since I was 15. I have always loved writing poetry as well as performing it. Poetry to me is being able to paint an abstract picture and put it into words. Words that give you inspiration, words that give you understanding, words that give you strength, and words that give you a more profound look into a person's heart and mind. I have entered and won every Talent show I have been in (which is three). I am also the winner of the 2007 Atlanta Annual Decatur Book festival Poetry slam. I was also a finalist in the Atlanta V-103 Poetry Slam, and was featured on Atlanta's V-103 radio station. I have also performed all around Atlanta including Java Monkey and Apache Cafe. I have Published two poetry books in the last 3 years and I am currently working on my third poetry book. This will be my first time entering the The Poetry Marathon(2020). I can't wait to write and to meet this awesome community. I really believe apart of life is about sharing our moments, passions, and experiences with one another because WE ARE ALL ONE.

I am a poet and literary editor whose middle name comes from the Latin for “truth.” I've published two poetry books, The Case of the Missing Lover (Dancing Girl Press), and Edison's Ghost Machine (Aldrich Press), and hold an MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. My hobbies include cooking, dance, and travel. A native of NYC's turnstile chaos, I now write in Washington state.

Hi everyone! 😊 I completed my PhD on contemporary feminist literature (namely fairy tale revisions) in 2018 at Ulster University, Northern Ireland. Since completing my PhD I started to write poetry and have had pieces published in various journals. I also recently returned from a year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I was the 2019-20 Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence for both the University of Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. Having now returned to my home place in Northern Ireland, I’m currently working on my first poetry chapbook but I struggle to balance my time between both academic and creative writing, so I’m hoping the Marathon will give me a bit of a kick start to establish a more regular and committed creative writing routine. A whole 24 hours to focus solely on my poetry is a very welcome opportunity for me! I look forward to meeting wonderful creatives and reading your work.

Thompson is my name and a very cool fella, petty calm and much introverted. I do much of my things within because I connect more from the inside than the outside. I love to write, because it serves my inner being and fill my spirit with enthusiasm and hope. Love u all, because I'm humane.

25. I write because I don't know how not to. Because, like Bukowski says, it comes bursting out of me.
