It’s right about now

It’s right about now that I start missing the point

the point where poetry marathon seems like a ridiculous idea.

Write a poem an hour for 24 hours

set your alarm forgo the prompts and write.

Sometimes interrupting conversations rewriting them short spurts feigning verse

What is the point? How much good will come of 24 poems in 24 hours

perhaps one in the mix will be worth a damn

if I don’t go to sleep in the next 40 minutes I won’t wake up to write another

one on the hour
