Hour 22: A Cure for Heartache

Abandoned by a worthless lover

Escaping to the sea

I stumbled into an enigma

Greater than my pain

Who put a door in the mountain?

Should I go through?

Trying to reach it

I slip and slide over

Small pillows of unyielding rock

Dripping with despair

Dousing myself in a shallow sea

Tasting like my tears

Drawn to the doorlight

I thought to find a wider sea

Where I could bury my sorrows

And sail away home

To softer shores

That would yield to my desires

I enter the storm of fire

I thought was true love

And drown in the heat

Melting slowly into indifference

I freeze

Myself into flinty stones

That used to be my heart
