contested of course by the county fathers<\/p>\n
as a public health menace<\/p>\n
their go-to ejection card since the hippie days<\/p>\n
these folks don’t camp<\/p>\n
they inhabit gutted cars<\/p>\n
and evade and collect fat driftwood<\/p>\n
bowling ashore<\/p>\n
humans yearning for walls or windbreak<\/p>\n
they live<\/p>\n
as best they can<\/p>\n
resourceful at a bony elbow of Maui with no remorse<\/p>\n
outside of an unflinching economic edifice<\/p>\n
of outpriced and non-existent housing<\/p>\n
l like a feature new this week<\/p>\n
the American flag tied to the top of a makeshift flagpole<\/p>\n
wind-whipped<\/p>\n
intact<\/p>\n
as if we need to be reminded–and we do–<\/p>\n
