Does it make you shed a tear?<br \/>\nDoes the silence bring you anger, for you need chaos throughout<br \/>\nOr does it bring you worry, filling up your head with doubt<br \/>\nWhen I am still and listen, I can hear the keyboard click<br \/>\nI can see the blinds there dancing and hear the clock\u2019s soft tick<br \/>\nThe little sounds oft silent in our daily happenings<br \/>\nI guess, a good reminder, to stop and greet the little things<br \/>\nOur lives are often busy, much too busy to embrace<br \/>\nThe simple things like lights on printers or a stranger\u2019s smiling face<br \/>\nThe things we all admire when we stop to take the time<br \/>\nLike the crackling of the fire or the grooves around a dime<br \/>\nWhen we stop and use our senses, counting each now \u2013 one by one<br \/>\nWe are forced to pause a moment and embrace what we\u2019ve begun<br \/>\nBy listening, we\u2019re hearing; by seeing, we delight<br \/>\nIn the glory that\u2019s before us that we feel with all our might<br \/>\nWe can touch the leaves below us, crackling upon the ground<br \/>\nWe can smell the rain around us, finding peace within its sound<br \/>\nWe can taste the joy of coffee to awaken us at dawn<br \/>\nWith all our senses at the ready, we tackle the world head on<br \/>\nBut only if we listen and be still, so we can hear<br \/>\nAll the sounds that are around us and what everyone brings near<br \/>\nCould be joy filled or just painful, elation or remorse<br \/>\nBut regardless, there\u2019s a lesson if we choose to stay the course<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Listening Just be still and listen and then tell me what you hear Is the quiet all but deafening?
