Perks of being of the female gender,<\/p>\n
So many, it addles my brain.<\/p>\n
Not being able to take a walk at night,<\/p>\n
Just one of the very many.<\/p>\n
Do everything in our power,<\/p>\n
To make sure we don’t feel powerless,<\/p>\n
But powerful, oh I haven’t felt that ever,<\/p>\n
Definitely not enough to stroll at night.<\/p>\n
Have to look behind my back at all times,<\/p>\n
Remain alert, my ears perked for sounds,<\/p>\n
The peace of the moonlit night,<\/p>\n
Ruined by the chaos of the night.<\/p>\n
So I admire the night from a distance,<\/p>\n
Looking at the moon’s craters,<\/p>\n
Remaining indoors,<\/p>\n
Trying to grasp tendrils of power…<\/p>\n
