{"id":101374,"date":"2021-06-27T05:18:18","date_gmt":"2021-06-27T09:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=101374"},"modified":"2021-06-27T05:22:11","modified_gmt":"2021-06-27T09:22:11","slug":"poem-ix-palettes-and-paintings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/poem-ix-palettes-and-paintings\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem IX: Palettes and Paintings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The colour of modesty is rouge.<br \/>\nIt is the shade of the clouds as it witnesses the consummation of two skies;<br \/>\nThe colour of your thoughts on my skin;<br \/>\nBlossoming roses when I sigh your remembrance to the winds;<br \/>\nmy palms pressed in prayers for our reunion.<br \/>\nModesty is the rouge veil that serves as the only partition between our souls<br \/>\nThe colour of the stars in which we were named each other&#8217;s<br \/>\nand of the flickering candle in my hollow chambers that burns with your partition.<\/p>\n<p>Faith, on the other hand, is an opaque cerulean.<br \/>\nThe colour of the ocean, knowing it has the power to swallow anything whole but only ever performs catharsis;<br \/>\nThe walls of a mosque that have been erected to protect the identity of a nation;<br \/>\nFaith is the cerulean in my veins that migrates to perform a pilgrimage only to pave a path to the centre of my universe:<br \/>\nThe cerulean on the paintbrush that God left in the vase of my soul that reminds me that every time I shatter, I find Him deeper within.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More poetry via instagram <span class=\"atwho-query\">@anjaanography<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The colour of modesty is rouge.
