{"id":101682,"date":"2021-06-27T07:01:08","date_gmt":"2021-06-27T11:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=101682"},"modified":"2021-06-27T06:05:12","modified_gmt":"2021-06-27T10:05:12","slug":"poem-xi-the-reminder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/poem-xi-the-reminder\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem XI: The Reminder of Al-Aqsa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Al-Aqsa is in my heart<br \/>\nand the settlers<br \/>\nrip the fibres apart to<br \/>\nchant death threats<br \/>\nto my hollow chambers.<br \/>\nIf I do not survive<br \/>\nto see the cerulean grief<br \/>\nin the domes of my heart<br \/>\nmorph into the liberation of a country<br \/>\nbetween the river and the sea,<br \/>\nremind my progeny from the narratives of prophecy;<br \/>\nPharoah thought he was god<br \/>\nbut my God split the sea for the believers<br \/>\nand drowned the enemy<br \/>\nso remind the oppressors that<br \/>\nGod is not with them.<br \/>\nTell my lineage that His Justice<br \/>\nis all-encompassing<br \/>\nand that His,<br \/>\nis not an Abode for the hopeless.<br \/>\nTell my progeny to not trust the historians<br \/>\nthat weave baseless stories<br \/>\nwith a golden thread<br \/>\nthat fails to cover the blood<br \/>\non their hands<br \/>\nbut to find the poets<br \/>\nwho have encrypted their valor<br \/>\nin the ink flowing in their vessels.<br \/>\nTell my progeny to never lose Faith<br \/>\nin His Wisdom because the<br \/>\nwrongdoers will suffer<br \/>\nin an infinite time-loop<br \/>\nand By His Will, we will witness<br \/>\nthe miracle of His Mercy<br \/>\nand the wreckage caused by His wrath.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More poetry via instagram @anjaanography<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Al-Aqsa is in my heart and the settlers rip the fibres apart to chant death threats to my hollow chambers.
