{"id":10171,"date":"2015-06-13T17:31:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-13T21:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=10171"},"modified":"2015-06-13T17:31:00","modified_gmt":"2015-06-13T21:31:00","slug":"truth-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/truth-is\/","title":{"rendered":"Truth is&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most times<br \/>\nWe don&#8217;t even know what we say<br \/>\nWe assume we have it all right<br \/>\nWhen reality is&#8230;<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re just cherubs trapped<br \/>\nIn a grown body<\/p>\n<p>Our minds play this game<br \/>\nOf<br \/>\nCat and mouse<br \/>\nIs it mind over matter?<br \/>\nOr<br \/>\nBody over mind?<\/p>\n<p>We claim to have all the answers<br \/>\nIn just the little time of being alive<\/p>\n<p>We boast about<br \/>\nAll the achievements we&#8217;ve made so far<br \/>\nYet have no clue that<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s so much more to do<\/p>\n<p>What we&#8217;ve obtained<br \/>\nMeans nothing in the grand scheme<br \/>\nOf things<\/p>\n<p>We claim we know what life is all about<br \/>\nTruth is&#8230;<br \/>\nWe don&#8217;t<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re all just learning<br \/>\nFrom past mistakes<br \/>\nThat were made<br \/>\nIn our previous<br \/>\nLifetimes<\/p>\n<p>What we do know<br \/>\nIs how to put others down<br \/>\nWe act like everything is rightfully ours<br \/>\nWe quickly become defensive<br \/>\nAnd act like<br \/>\nOthers have ulterior motives<br \/>\nOnes that might put us to shame<\/p>\n<p>Too many of us<br \/>\nLive a life full of fear<br \/>\nWe don&#8217;t know how<br \/>\nTo just let go<br \/>\nAnd know that in life<br \/>\nWe can never be without<\/p>\n<p>We have an infinite supply<br \/>\nTo satisfy all our means<br \/>\nAll we have to do is<br \/>\nReach for what we dream<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most times We don&#8217;t even know what we say We assume we have it all right When reality is&#8230; We&#8217;re just cherubs trapped In a grown body Our minds play this game Of Cat and mouse Is it mind over matter?
