{"id":102680,"date":"2021-06-27T08:04:23","date_gmt":"2021-06-27T12:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=102680"},"modified":"2021-06-28T11:50:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-28T15:50:59","slug":"ponderables-hour-10-prompt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/ponderables-hour-10-prompt\/","title":{"rendered":"Ponderables (hour 11 prompt)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On days when I am feeling<br \/>\ndown<br \/>\nI think of when I was a kid<br \/>\nand my potential<br \/>\ncareer choices changed<br \/>\ndaily<\/p>\n<p>I once wanted to be<br \/>\na forest ranger<br \/>\nthough confusing one with<br \/>\nthe Lone Ranger<br \/>\nI was disappointed to<br \/>\nlearn that not many<br \/>\npeople were<br \/>\nmean to trees<\/p>\n<p>Plus, they would\u2019ve<br \/>\nprobably<br \/>\nstuck me in a swamp<br \/>\nwearing gumboots and<br \/>\nchasing leeches<\/p>\n<p>I never wanted to be<br \/>\none of those<br \/>\nskyscaper<br \/>\nwindow washers<br \/>\nthough watching them<br \/>\nfrom inside<br \/>\nturned out to be cool \u2013<br \/>\nthe opposite<br \/>\nfrom when I learned<br \/>\nfrom a baker<br \/>\nthat sourdough really was<br \/>\nSOUR dough<br \/>\nalive, actually.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately<br \/>\nmy times of dwelling on<br \/>\nsuch things is<br \/>\nfairly limited<br \/>\nas I don\u2019t have a lot of<br \/>\nbad days<\/p>\n<p>And when I do<br \/>\nI\u2019m never<br \/>\nreally depressed and<br \/>\ndon\u2019t even say I have<br \/>\nthe blues<br \/>\nmore just a case of<br \/>\nthe periwinkles<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2013 Mark L.
