{"id":102932,"date":"2021-06-27T08:58:10","date_gmt":"2021-06-27T12:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=102932"},"modified":"2021-06-27T09:03:20","modified_gmt":"2021-06-27T13:03:20","slug":"whatever-will-be-will-be","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/whatever-will-be-will-be\/","title":{"rendered":"Whatever Will Be, Will Be"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When the dawn breaks, my dreams-they will fall<br \/>\nAnd down will come reality, cradled in the long haul.<br \/>\nFor what I dream<br \/>\nIs too much a far-fetched fantasy.<br \/>\nOnly things within my reach can withstand<br \/>\nAnd reasoning that nothing ever goes as planned-<br \/>\nBut they say \u201cKeep moving forward\u201d to an unknown destination<br \/>\nMy soul isn\u2019t starving for cheap and hollow placation<br \/>\nBut I drive on-<br \/>\nAlthough trapped in thought, withdrawn<br \/>\nBlurring lines between what is and could never be<br \/>\nSailing upon the waves of the North Sea<br \/>\nThread the needles and stitch it up quick<br \/>\nHolding tight to the ideals of that which is chiliastic.<br \/>\nKeep holding on or let it all go<br \/>\nBut keep it from repeating this section of allegro-<br \/>\nAs the enthusiastic rhythm competes with<br \/>\nA nihilistic future, an intimidating monolith.<br \/>\nSo I keep hope tucked away in my back pocket<br \/>\nI put cares away and put my life on the docket<br \/>\nWhat I can control now is more about myself<br \/>\nTo add to the collection of stories on my bookshelf<br \/>\nAs this life of mine is a vivid tale of spoken word<br \/>\nAnd a simple existence that\u2019s not all that absurd<br \/>\nI have struggles with \u201clet the chips fall as they may\u201d<br \/>\nAnd wait for the unknown that comes each day.<br \/>\nAs much as I need to control my world<br \/>\nTo map it all out and remain furled.<br \/>\nI always require foreknowledge on what is to transpire<br \/>\nInstead of firing blindly-getting nailed in the crossfire.<br \/>\nSo I\u2019ve tried to retrain my mind to take it as I go<br \/>\nEven all the things that previously I didn\u2019t know<br \/>\nAnd welcome the surprises that aren\u2019t all that worrisome<br \/>\nAnd add it to the list of things that make what I become<br \/>\nA masterpiece of mosaic modeled by mania and depression<br \/>\nFor some it seems I\u2019ve made quite the lasting impression<br \/>\nI take each experience and learn from the curve<br \/>\nAdd it to my growing and transcendent life\u2019s oeuvre<br \/>\nRoll with the punches and let it all flow<br \/>\nAnd hold my open palm to receive the rose of Jericho<br \/>\nI must live in the moment, not internally argue about what can be ascertained<br \/>\nObsessing only leaves me cold, listless, and constrained.<br \/>\nSo I opt to exist in a world where I\u2019m content at best<br \/>\nAnd welcome all that is simple that leaves me implicitly blessed.<br \/>\nIt is time now for me to let go of the reins<br \/>\nOverthinking and caution have wrapped me tight in chains.<br \/>\nAllowing myself to lose control and let what will be, be<br \/>\nAnd accept that in time what is unknown will never always hurt me. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the dawn breaks, my dreams-they will fall And down will come reality, cradled in the long haul.
