I live in Austin, Texas, and this is my first marathon. I&#8217;m giving the half marathon a go, and we&#8217;ll see what happens with it. I&#8217;ve been actively writing poetry since 2019 (with a small burst around 1997 before that), and really dove into it during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Poetry has become part of my growth and healing process, and it&#8217;s become integral to my sense of self.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to seeing what I create in this, and in seeing what other creations I get to see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the world overwhelms, when the news is all bad, when chaos threatens, I make art.
