{"id":107019,"date":"2022-06-25T09:55:32","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T13:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=107019"},"modified":"2022-06-25T10:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T14:00:00","slug":"hour-1-39","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/hour-1-39\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 1 &#8211; The Dance of the Rain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The dance of the rain<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I am comforted by the four walls,<\/p>\n<p>a roof and the fire.<\/p>\n<p>The bay window frames the perfect view for<\/p>\n<p>the dance of the rain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Like in any performance the<\/p>\n<p>mizzle lightly drips<\/p>\n<p>building momentum it gathers speed<\/p>\n<p>becoming a shower.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With no further indications<\/p>\n<p>the heavens open<\/p>\n<p>rainfall uncontrollable as it downpours<\/p>\n<p>from the clouds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It bounces from the tarmac so hard<\/p>\n<p>it dances as it rises.<\/p>\n<p>ferocious in pace and downpour it<\/p>\n<p>batters the window too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I know of the damage and havoc<\/p>\n<p>heavy rainfall causes<\/p>\n<p>bursting water banks and floods<\/p>\n<p>it helps me.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I embrace the power of the sound<\/p>\n<p>of the rain which soothes<\/p>\n<p>helping my body and mind relax<\/p>\n<p>becoming stress free.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Like in any performance the<\/p>\n<p>rain becomes a mizzle<\/p>\n<p>falling as lightly as it first did<\/p>\n<p>coming to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The dance of the rain &nbsp; I am comforted by the four walls, a roof and the fire.
