That doesn’t stop self-proclaimed experts
\nfrom shoveling shit,
\nrejecting truths,
\nfrom filling our heads with bad info
\nand doubts, filling some heads
\nwith assurances that aren’t assurable.<\/p>\n
When you have questions, they shut you down.
\nYou’re too young to know.
\nYou don’t need to know.<\/p>\n
Only God knows, someone I once knew would say,
\nthen proceed to tell me what God knows.<\/p>\n
Unproven, just a theory, my cousin says.
\nHe rejects natural selection, but he believes
\nin the politics of survival of the fittest,
\nand that he knows what I don’t.<\/p>\n
I’m sure he does. No one knows everything.
\nWe all know something. If only
\nwe could know what we don’t know. If only
\nwe were sure of what we do.<\/p>\n
Finally, beware the person who professes to know
\nwhat’s best for you. Sometimes
\nwe don’t even know ourselves. Sometimes
\nwe can’t even recognize truth
