5 am here<\/p>\n
Cat is confused<\/p>\n
His people off schedule<\/p>\n
Invading his quiet time<\/p>\n
Just outside the window<\/p>\n
I hear the ocean<\/p>\n
Gently hitting the shore<\/p>\n
A sound I barely notice<\/p>\n
I can sense the moon disappearing<\/p>\n
and the sun readying herself<\/p>\n
for a glorious Maui day.<\/p>\n
Cat jumps up<\/p>\n
His fur lightly coated<\/p>\n
A gentle rain greets this day<\/p>\n
Full of promises and poems<\/p>\n
Cat will adapt and inspire<\/p>\n
Maui will caress with its beauty<\/p>\n
The ocean will play its gentle percussion<\/p>\n
The darkness will fade into light<\/p>\n
Into darkness<\/p>\n
Cat perches and chirps<\/p>\n
Hassles me and bathes<\/p>\n
Cat is the night, the rain, the quiet.<\/p>\n
The sun will bring his naptime<\/p>\n
I will poem through it all.<\/p>\n
