The dog will ask for treats<\/p>\n
And maybe hug you close<\/p>\n
Sometimes you see a smile<\/p>\n
But not the one\u00a0 you lost<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Soon they all stop asking<\/p>\n
To know just how you feel<\/p>\n
All ramble on about themselves<\/p>\n
Afraid that grief stays real<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When you know this happens<\/p>\n
You simply must forgive<\/p>\n
You look for those people<\/p>\n
Who keep managing to live<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A different empty nester<\/p>\n
Just your voice that sings<\/p>\n
The other sadly left this nest<\/p>\n
On soft angelic wings<\/p>\n
