But for fuck&#8217;s sake,<br \/>\nlook around at what we&#8217;ve made,<br \/>\nand tell me we&#8217;re any better than<br \/>\nour grandparents in any way beyond<br \/>\nthe superficialities.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, we live in an age of wonders &#8211;<br \/>\nwe can get to the other side of the planet<br \/>\nin mere hours, and communicate to<br \/>\nthe antipodes in seconds. We have<br \/>\nwalked on the Moon, sent robots<br \/>\nto Mars, so many other glorious deeds.<\/p>\n<p>But, at our hearts, we are the same<br \/>\nas those people a century past and<br \/>\nshouldn&#8217;t be so smug. It&#8217;s not that we<br \/>\ncan&#8217;t learn so much as that we<br \/>\nrefuse to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m not saying we don&#8217;t learn as a species.
