{"id":109494,"date":"2022-06-25T12:24:42","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T16:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=109494"},"modified":"2022-06-25T19:16:14","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T23:16:14","slug":"why-i-became-a-poet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/why-i-became-a-poet\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I Became a Poet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Why I Became a Poet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The paper mache puppet<\/p>\n<p>I made for 5<sup>th<\/sup> grade art class<\/p>\n<p>received a C-minus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I shredded multiple sheets<\/p>\n<p>of newspaper, then made paste<\/p>\n<p>from flour and tap water.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I loved dogs, and mine looked<\/p>\n<p>friendly, though misshapen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His dark eyes bulged,<\/p>\n<p>and his smile was crooked,<\/p>\n<p>though endearing.
