Walking in the woods

\nsweater weather
\nso beautiful <\/p>\n
I remember the way so well
\nthough it’s been over 20 years
\nsince I was last here.
\nThe memories are very strong
\ntoday<\/p>\n
That’s where I used to camp
\nand that’s where I would go
\ndown to the creek and look for crayfish
\nthat there is where I had my first big kiss<\/p>\n
This used to be the place
\nI would run to in order to cope
\nwith everything that life threw
\nat me
\nwhen I thought I couldn’t take it
\nanymore<\/p>\n
my friends were here
\nsolitude and the wild animals
\nI’ve missed you all<\/p>\n
We’ve missed you as well
\nas you can see- the creek
\nkept flowing without you here
\ntime changes everything
\nLife had to go on<\/p>\n
It’s been so long since I ‘ve
\ncome here
\nI’m so sorry, life just got in
\nthe way.<\/p>\n
Well I’m all grown up now
\nand I found that I didn’t
\nneed to run here every single
\ntime something didn’t go my way
\nthat’s really why I came here all the time<\/p>\n
I was a child and didn’t know how
\nto cope with my emotions when
\nthey got to be too, too much.
\nI know how to now<\/p>\n
That’s good. It is good
\nto see you today- so why come
\nhere today? It’s been years-
\nYou could have just stayed away<\/p>\n
I had to come here today
\nI just had to make myself
\nunderstand that I didn’t have
\nto feel guilty or hurt that I was
\ngrowing up and didn’t need you
\nlike the crutch I used you as<\/p>\n
I’ve grown up and to move forward
\nmeans putting away childish things
\nI had to come say farewell to
