KnowLedge<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now in 2122, we stand on the ledge <\/span><\/p>\n

of what\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

we knew a century ago –<\/span><\/p>\n

when blue bones began again and ice-locked\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

streams broke loose by choice or time <\/span><\/p>\n

to go – <\/span>climate deniers clumped and clodded<\/span><\/p>\n

skirted round the floes gathering rootless\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

growth in a <\/span>wake.<\/span><\/p>\n

We should have known.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When the integrity of dirt<\/span><\/p>\n

was lost, gone was<\/span><\/p>\n

kakapo, sea turtles, sloth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferns from dinosaur times<\/span><\/p>\n

became extinct – it\u2019s not\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

what you think –<\/span><\/p>\n

decisions were postponed<\/span><\/p>\n

We could have known.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The earth tilted ever so<\/span><\/p>\n

greased its orbit <\/span><\/p>\n

as if\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

to alter flow<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaia sacrificed – her sun<\/span><\/p>\n

no longer in view.<\/span><\/p>\n
