Five is my lucky number, so I was very pleased when this number came out of the hat. So much so I\u2019ve got two poems up for your delectation. I wish I had a chance to give the first one, one more verse, but oh well.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n<\/i>it\u2019s all the fives
\n<\/i>some\u00a0famous
\n<\/i>some\u00a0jackson<\/i><\/p>\n

& one\u00a0renault
\n<\/i>no prizes
\nfor picking
\nthe odd one
\nout<\/p>\n

clearly the Renault 5
\nFrench supermini
\naka Super 5
\naka Supercinq
\naka Le Car<\/p>\n

true to its number
\nthey built nearly
\n5.5 million of em
\ntake that Timmy
\n& Tito too<\/p>\n

\nspouts at the footy
\nto vent her
\nfrustration
\ncontempt
\ndisgust
\nwith how
\nthe game
\nis proceeding
\n& the players
\nperforming<\/p>\n

along with other
\nalmost obsolete
\nidioms as:\u2014
\n\u2014 alack & alas!
\n\u2014 boomshanka!
\n\u2014 ay, ay, chihuahua!<\/p>\n

sometimes it seems
\nas if she wants to be a pirate
\nwith her:\u2014 cor blimey!\u2019s
\n\u2014 blooming heck!\u2019s
\n\u2014 shiver me timber!ing
\n\u2014 gee whillikers!
\n\u2014 suffering suckatash!
\n& \u2014 gadzooks!<\/p>\n

a vendetta
\nagainst god\u2019s creatures:\u2014
\n\u2014 loveaduck!
\n\u2014 leapin\u2019 lizards!
\n\u2014 jiminy crickets!
\n\u2014 holy mackerel!
\n\u2014 ye gods & little fishes!<\/p>\n

other times she berates
\npeople not even present:\u2014
\n\u2014 jumping Jehoshaphat!
\n\u2014 Jiminy Cricket!
\n\u2014 my giddy aunt!
\n\u2014 blimey charlie!<\/p>\n

& then there\u2019s the ones
\nthat simply make no sense:\u2014
\n\u2014 och aye the noo!
\n\u2014 pish posh migosh!
\n& \u2014 thunderations above!<\/p>\n

& she wonders
\nwhy i\u2019ve taken up
\nmacram\u00e9<\/p>\n
