The back garden has always been my safe haven.
\nDeep within the pages of a brilliant book I pause
\nbetween chapters, taking a sip of my cuppa, and
\nreflecting upon the simple pleasures within this <\/p>\n
treasured space:<\/p>\n
A gentle sunflower sprouts up, the first of the
\nseason and eager to kiss the sun.<\/p>\n
The grass would not appease the bylaw officers,
\ndancing with the gentle breeze.<\/p>\n
No pavement in sight, as it should be, I reach
\nthe worn out deck<\/p>\n
where memories have stomped on its surface.
\nAt the BBQ I requested <\/p>\n
extra cheddar cheese on my burger, always
\ngranted to keep my belly full.<\/p>\n
The ashtrays are now absent, certainly best, I can
\nremember them full. <\/p>\n
Lastly, I spot the mighty oak in the far left corner,
\nalways a constant. <\/p>\n
Eventually I get back to my book, but never
