{"id":110641,"date":"2022-06-25T13:46:55","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T17:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=110641"},"modified":"2022-06-25T13:46:55","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T17:46:55","slug":"hour-4-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/hour-4-35\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Piano Forest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The piano forest<br \/>\nis where I want to grow old.<br \/>\nI haven\u2019t touched its keys,<br \/>\nwalked its pathways,<br \/>\ncounted its leaves<br \/>\nin a while.<\/p>\n<p>I hold my breath<br \/>\nwhen I look at green-filtered sunlight<br \/>\non the mossy floors.<br \/>\nI am a plant, anxiously exchanging<br \/>\nthe bright rays for oxygen\u2013confusion.<br \/>\nI wish I was a plant, so I could leave behind<br \/>\nthe anxiety and fade into the hills.<\/p>\n<p>Taste the heat, it is<br \/>\npalpable, numbs my tongue.<br \/>\nIf I were to be a plant, I\u2019d be desert sage.<br \/>\nLet my wisdom turn the seedlings to trees.<\/p>\n<p>I would be grown through the piano<br \/>\nin the forest, swarm myself onto the strings.<br \/>\nImagine, the sun shining a light<br \/>\nupon my dead cells transmorphed<br \/>\ninto the purple sun-shaped blossoms<br \/>\nthat cover all the keys.<\/p>\n<p>I haven\u2019t played in a while,<br \/>\nbut I like to imagine that when I do<br \/>\nagain, the music will sound<br \/>\nlike the mycelium when given a voice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Piano Forest The piano forest is where I want to grow old.
