a calm, caring presence that envelopes me.<\/p>\n
I call her mother.<\/p>\n
She is my mother<\/p>\n
when my mom wasn’t there.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In her shades of green<\/p>\n
and earth tones,<\/p>\n
she sent Doe’s to guide me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On days of unbearable grief,<\/p>\n
I heard her call<\/p>\n
to walk the trails of her creatures.<\/p>\n
I felt her embrace in the wind<\/p>\n
when I sat and cried<\/p>\n
asking “why”<\/p>\n
to a boulder that supported me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
To me, she is my mother.<\/p>\n
She was there as the moon<\/p>\n
when I felt alone in depression.<\/p>\n
Urging me to go on and take strength<\/p>\n
from her silver light.<\/p>\n
To learn from her cycles,<\/p>\n
everything has a turn,<\/p>\n
everything will come full circle.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That is why I call her mom,<\/p>\n
which is why I heed her.<\/p>\n
She is the path I know<\/p>\n
that I can’t get lost on.<\/p>\n

She is Artemis.<\/p>\n
Goddess of the Hunt.<\/p>\n
Protector of Girls, young women, and women.<\/p>\n
Goddess of chastity and childbirth.<\/p>\n
She is what I call mom.<\/p>\n
