8 years a traveller, that’s me,<\/p>\n
From homeland to those far flung places, that’s where I may be,<\/p>\n
Wandering lost, on a journey,<\/p>\n
Of discovery and subsequent destruction,<\/p>\n
Following my own path, sweet, crazy, maybe.<\/p>\n
I live in a country,<\/p>\n
whose motto is ‘We are free!’<\/p>\n
But I’ve never felt more repressed,<\/p>\n
no job, no visa, no new company.<\/p>\n
The end is in sight,<\/p>\n
In the future I’ll call on my feet,<\/p>\n
To carry me away to lands I’ve not yet seen.<\/p>\n
Through Thailand, to Aussie,<\/p>\n
New Zealand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Both Americas I’ve been,<\/p>\n
Europe and Asia, I’ve always felt free.<\/p>\n
6 continents of 7, so proud of me,<\/p>\n
Now I’m stagnant, I’m stale,<\/p>\n
I don’t know who could help me?<\/p>\n
But as I wait for immigration to allow me to work,<\/p>\n
Throw down some roots,<\/p>\n
Make my future with my husband,<\/p>\n
A small voice mocks me,<\/p>\n
