Acquired in many ways.<\/p>\n
Some stay with us a long, long time<\/p>\n
And some for merely days.<\/p>\n
2 legs, 4 legs, sometimes 3<\/p>\n
Fur and feathers, too<\/p>\n
Squawks and barks and whistling sounds<\/p>\n
All those kisses just for you.<\/p>\n
They’ll walk with you and rest with you<\/p>\n
They’re sad when you aren’t there<\/p>\n
We scratch their ears and squelch their fears<\/p>\n
When storms are in the air<\/p>\n
Their bubble baths will make you laugh<\/p>\n
That skunk smell not so much<\/p>\n
Once they’re out and squeeky clean<\/p>\n
They’re oh so soft to touch<\/p>\n
So here’s to all our family pets<\/p>\n
Loyal from the start<\/p>\n
There memories will always hold<\/p>\n
A place within our hearts!<\/p>\n
