Dear Aisha,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I heard we moved to a new house,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Did the paint on the walls fade again to a wispy yellow?<\/span><\/p>\n

I know how hard mama tries to keep it bright and shining,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But the walls were always whining,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They often said we dreamt too loud\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But how could we not?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Papa\u2019s bookshelves only grew taller and taller,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Does he still keep his keys on the top and forget?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I bet,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019re still angry that he gave away those books\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That we read, hiding in little nooks\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From words that weren\u2019t flooded by mama\u2019s tears\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Angry that everything we said became shears\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you still like to look out windows<\/span><\/p>\n

But not really go outside?<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell me that you tried<\/span><\/p>\n

To find me<\/span><\/p>\n

How many seas<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you crossed?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I heard many<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty, of oceans inside of us<\/span><\/p>\n

I will let this one flow<\/span><\/p>\n

You can go\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am writing from across time\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your younger self, your crime\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Was none\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
