{"id":111097,"date":"2022-06-25T14:19:21","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T18:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=111097"},"modified":"2022-06-25T14:19:21","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T18:19:21","slug":"layla-hour-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/layla-hour-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Layla (Hour 6)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In my life, I never had the words to say<br \/>\nEverything I wanted to say to you<br \/>\nHow I loved our runs in the park<br \/>\nOr around the giant table at home<br \/>\nAnd all the yummy food after &#8211; beef burger and spiced chicken<br \/>\nHow I loved our mornings together<br \/>\nWhen I climbed in your bed and you snuggled me<br \/>\nHow much I loved you<br \/>\nHow much it made me happy when all of us were together as a big happy family<\/p>\n<p>Some memories, maybe not so great<br \/>\nThe squirrels and rabbits in the backyard, always ruining Dad\u2019s grass<br \/>\nThe noisy annoying neighbor who always broke my afternoon snooze<br \/>\nThe times when you would leave and I would be home<br \/>\nWaiting, hoping, you would be back someday<br \/>\nAnd of course, the last days, of pain, and fear, and the unknown<br \/>\nBut I want you to know that despite all that<br \/>\nNone of this could ever get rid of<br \/>\nThe immense joy and love and care you and everyone else gave me <\/p>\n<p>While here in your world, I said this how I could<br \/>\nA woof. A lick.
