you saw a small baby.<\/p>\n

When you tell me your story –<\/p>\n
of finally meeting your daughter<\/p>\n
as she was dying at age Forty\u2013 I<\/p>\n
want to surround you with the<\/p>\n
compassion you never knew.<\/p>\n

I want to thank that nurse you mentioned<\/p>\n
who was so kind, as you came out of delivery-<\/p>\n
and said lovingly: \u00a0Oh, you\u2019re just a little thing!<\/p>\n

And \u2013 let\u2019s agree that if you had been allowed to keep your<\/p>\n
baby \u2013 you would have done the very best job you knew how<\/p>\n
to let her spirit soar!<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry about answering this letter. We\u2019ll talk<\/p>\n
when we get a chance.<\/p>\n
I know you\u2019re busy with your grown kids and your grandsons.<\/p>\n

I cherish the photos you\u2019ve sent and the<\/p>\n
positive health updates.<\/p>\n
