I’ve become obsessed with what went wrong
\nwith our big brains, our pride and joy<\/p>\n
how we lost more than we gained
\nwhen we learned how to dig up coal
\nand forgot all we had once revered<\/p>\n
the plants, the bugs, the birds, the fish
\nthe sun, the moon, the stars, the wish<\/p>\n
everything going on its timeless course
\nwas now just fodder for our mills<\/p>\n
and ancient wisdom plowed under, too
\nI’ve become obsessed with what went wrong<\/p>\n
the plants, the bugs, the good black earth
\npaved where forests had been felled
\nand waterways forced underground<\/p>\n
