{"id":113107,"date":"2022-06-25T16:47:16","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T20:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=113107"},"modified":"2022-06-26T11:13:18","modified_gmt":"2022-06-26T15:13:18","slug":"113107","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/113107\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Oh, Death!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I summoned Death and gave him my soul,<br \/>\nJust so he could live the curse of life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In kindess he&#8217;s rich, in wisdom deprived,<br \/>\nThe first thing he did was to love.<br \/>\nOh, Death, how naive, love is a curse of life!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">&#8220;No, love is a gift!&#8221; He screamed,<br \/>\nWait till he sees where the bitter truth lies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I waited til his heart was as ruined as mine,<br \/>\nNow he&#8217;s sore in pain and hopelessness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I felt nothing when he yowl because,<br \/>\nI summoned Death and gave him my soul.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">&#8220;No, love is a gift!&#8221; He screamed,<br \/>\n&#8220;Love and pain define a meaningful life!&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;&#8216;&#8230; sources of wisdom that I was deprived!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I gave Death my soul to live the curse of life,<br \/>\nYet still I&#8217;m the one who suffered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh, Death!
