I smelled the trellised jasmine vine, so sweet.<\/p>\n

The second-year asters standing tall and proud<\/p>\n
Just making buds for this year\u2019s exhibition<\/p>\n
Are crowding out the fading pansy plants.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The sunflowers we planted for Ukraine<\/p>\n
Are halfway up the fence and growing fast.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The garden phlox and purple echinacea<\/p>\n
Are fighting it out for the title Best of Show.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I communed with bees and dragonflies<\/p>\n
While walking in my yard today.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The sunflowers we planted for Ukraine<\/p>\n
Are winning the war against the marigolds<\/p>\n
Whose yellow\/orange faces smile at me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Of all the growing things that I can see,<\/p>\n
