Hour Eight: Small Town Gigan<\/span><\/p>\n

Small towns dream of skyscrapers and busy streets
\n<\/span>as the coffee perks and the usual crowd gathers for eggs and gossip.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnsons\u2019 hound got into Maeve\u2019s hens again and now there\u2019s hell to pay.
\n<\/span>And what\u2019s that sky gonna do, d\u2019ya think? Look like rain?
\n<\/span>While Main Street runs just two blocks past the only stop sign in town.<\/span><\/p>\n

Visions of gleaming steel, fast-talking men, fashionable women
\n<\/span>Flash in the rearview mirror of the pickup truck as it rolls through town<\/span><\/p>\n

To a stop at Tractor Supply to pick up some feed, check the price of seed
\n<\/span>The local doc snatches a donut down at Murphy\u2019s before starting his rounds<\/span><\/p>\n

and the undertaker stares out the window, gathering his thoughts.
\n<\/span>Small towns dream of skyscrapers and busy streets<\/span><\/p>\n

Visions of gleaming steel, fast-talking men, fashionable women
\n<\/span>Gleam in the wistful eyes of 15-year-old Annie as she gets off the school bus
\n<\/span>And in the regrets of her teacher, looking over lesson plans one more time.<\/span><\/p>\n

And while small towns dream, the big city swelters
