As a woman of this earth, this day, this year.<\/p>\n

I do have rights, or at least I did two days ago<\/p>\n
Along with half of the world’s population….half!<\/p>\n
I’ve never lived through such a time of inequality.<\/p>\n

Maybe I’ve taken for granted, those rights promised to me<\/p>\n
Through the undying fight from the women who have come before.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Their struggles and battles fought, their ridicules and humiliations suffered<\/p>\n
Serve as their badge of honor, so that we may be considered equal.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
May, be, considered, equal?\u00a0 How is that even a question?<\/p>\n
I should have rights shouldn’t I?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Maybe I’ve taken for granted, those rights promised to me.<\/p>\n
Why are the hands of the clock going backward?<\/p>\n
What will it take for women to be truly equal?<\/p>\n

When I die, I hope to come back as a praying mantis<\/p>\n
