{"id":114236,"date":"2022-06-25T18:06:14","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T22:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=114236"},"modified":"2022-06-25T18:06:14","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T22:06:14","slug":"dogspeak-9-dog-hair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/dogspeak-9-dog-hair\/","title":{"rendered":"DogSpeak #9  Dog Hair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DogSpeak #9 Dog Hair<\/p>\n<p>Always yelling, telling us<br \/>\nto get off the couch, the bed,<br \/>\nyour favorite chair,<br \/>\neven outside on the deck<br \/>\nto get off the chaise lounge.<br \/>\nThe hair you say \u2013<br \/>\nwell, yeah, we\u2019re dogs<br \/>\nmade of hair.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t be misguided;<br \/>\nwe are not common dogs<br \/>\nwe don\u2019t like hardwood anything<br \/>\nnothing without tufting,<br \/>\nno unfluffy rugs for us,<br \/>\nno cold hard flat surfaces.<br \/>\nThough we have our own padding,<br \/>\nwe want to curl up and stretch out<br \/>\nin an ocean of high-density<br \/>\nhigh-quality polyurethane fiberfill.<\/p>\n<p>We like sink-to-our-bellies cushy<br \/>\nwe love deep-as-our-knees comfy<br \/>\nwe want down-filled pillows<br \/>\nunder our feet when we walk.<\/p>\n<p>We want to roll over and over<br \/>\nin a field of cotton clover,<br \/>\na couch of springy soft foam,<br \/>\nrecliners covered in silk damask<br \/>\nstuffed with the wool from a thousand<br \/>\nnewly-shorn sheep, and expect us<br \/>\nto leave some dog hair behind<br \/>\nto remind you we were there.<\/p>\n<p>Brush us all you like, day and night,<br \/>\nwe\u2019re dogs, we shed&#8230; a lot \u2013<br \/>\nyou should accept that and<br \/>\nto helling with the yelling.<\/p>\n<p>We want to nap in the lap of luxury<br \/>\nwant to sleep in doggy sweet dreams<br \/>\non the overstuffed sofa<br \/>\nand not have you chase us off.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s only right, we are not common dogs<br \/>\nit\u2019s where we belong \u2013<br \/>\nafter all, that\u2019s why they call it fur-niture.<\/p>\n<p>~ J R Turek<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DogSpeak #9 Dog Hair Always yelling, telling us to get off the couch, the bed, your favorite chair, even outside on the deck to get off the chaise lounge.
