{"id":114250,"date":"2022-06-25T19:00:43","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T23:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=114250"},"modified":"2022-06-25T19:00:43","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T23:00:43","slug":"reunions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/reunions\/","title":{"rendered":"Reunions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t go to school reunions.<\/p>\n<p>I prefer one on one encounters<br \/>\nto large gathering of classmates<\/p>\n<p>mirroring the society of high school<br \/>\nwhich I could do without.<\/p>\n<p>After the latest school shooting,<br \/>\nI have been thinking of classmates <\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t seen in over 50 years<br \/>\nand realizing how little <\/p>\n<p>I knew about their lives<br \/>\nduring the long years <\/p>\n<p>of our shared desks<br \/>\nlined up in rows<\/p>\n<p>front to back and<br \/>\nside to side <\/p>\n<p>with some extraordinary<br \/>\nteachers that unknowingly<\/p>\n<p>pointed the way for me<br \/>\nduring that time of my coming of age.<\/p>\n<p>This need to reach out to<br \/>\nstrangers who appear familiar<\/p>\n<p>and who I remember<br \/>\nfew stories of that time <\/p>\n<p>is perplexing and<br \/>\nwill pass with time.<\/p>\n<p>How do I piece together<br \/>\nhow I got to where I am now?<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t go to school reunions<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t go to school reunions.
