Sometimes she sees him,<\/p>\n
Sometimes she smells him,<\/p>\n
Either way, she gets irate,<\/p>\n
Shaking and growling.<\/p>\n
Nearly a convulsive state.<\/p>\n
It is a useless warning that he ignores.<\/p>\n
Unless someone opens doors.<\/p>\n
Merely the sound of squeaking hinges<\/p>\n
Gives that whistle pig the cringes.<\/p>\n
Shrieking his complaint,<\/p>\n
Chuck runs in a rage<\/p>\n
Hoping Maggie can’t escape her cage.<\/p>\n
A stalwart sentinel, she warns him off.<\/p>\n
Alas, my good girl, you really tried.<\/p>\n
