I listened to you Robert<\/p>\n
I did, you inspired me<\/p>\n
I took that path less traveled<\/p>\n
That road to no where<\/p>\n
I have holes in my shoes<\/p>\n
I have no house<\/p>\n
But I can appreciate a nice sunset<\/p>\n
Or the way the wind whistles in tandem with the palms<\/p>\n
It did make all the difference<\/p>\n
I am a poet Robert<\/p>\n
I can say that<\/p>\n
I can<\/p>\n
Maybe not quite of your genius<\/p>\n
But I have a small genius of my very own<\/p>\n
I could have gotten married<\/p>\n
Had small children<\/p>\n
Gone to college\u00a0to studied botany or airplane repair<\/p>\n
But I took the road less traveled<\/p>\n
The overgrown one with snakes<\/p>\n
I have gotten lost in the meter<\/p>\n
Gotten poison ivy from too much alliteration<\/p>\n
I have slunk away slowly from a dangerous haiku<\/p>\n
I blame you Robert<\/p>\n
I do<\/p>\n
That road less traveled<\/p>\n
It means services are pretty far in-between<\/p>\n
You may run out of gas<\/p>\n
You might not have a hamburger when you want one<\/p>\n
You may have to settle<\/p>\n
For cuddling up with a warm notebook<\/p>\n
At three in the morning<\/p>\n
I know you were trying to be inspirational<\/p>\n
And Bob, you were<\/p>\n
I listened<\/p>\n
I heeded your challenge<\/p>\n
I tripped down that road and never looked back<\/p>\n
Just one thing Rob, one small thing<\/p>\n
Could you at least have left a map?<\/p>\n
Written a sequel?<\/p>\n
Helped me navigate some?<\/p>\n
See I am on that road<\/p>\n
I can’t feel my way<\/p>\n
I can’t see the trees or the forest<\/p>\n
The Road is now a tiny path<\/p>\n
The overgrowth is menacing<\/p>\n
I don’t have a machete<\/p>\n
I’m scared Robert I really am<\/p>\n
I took the road less traveled<\/p>\n
I owe it all to you.<\/p>\n
Now I need you to help me out<\/p>\n
