2022 prompt\/hour 9: \u201cstrawberries\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Spilling from the car<\/span><\/p>\n

Shaking off the tiredness from the trip<\/span><\/p>\n

Shaking off almost as much sand from the beach visit to Kings\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

We are here!<\/span><\/p>\n

The strawberry farm – a local institution <\/span><\/p>\n

Any trip to the farm needs:<\/span><\/p>\n

1 – a drive to the beach – with a swim for the hardier souls for its *winter* after all!<\/span><\/p>\n

2 – Strawberry picking with the family on the way home from the beach <\/span><\/p>\n

Grabbing pails<\/span><\/p>\n

Turning I wave at mum<\/span><\/p>\n

She waves back<\/span><\/p>\n

She is used to me<\/span><\/p>\n

Same rows<\/span><\/p>\n

Same part of the farm<\/span><\/p>\n

Same strategy<\/span><\/p>\n

Most won\u2019t go so far<\/span><\/p>\n

Most don\u2019t have the time<\/span><\/p>\n

Better to go the extra rows<\/span><\/p>\n

Better pickings -literally <\/span><\/p>\n

Excellent haul – 2 pails <\/span><\/p>\n

Excellent quality – snuck 2 to check<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking up to mum I beg for ice cream with strawberries for dinner<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking up at mum dad suggests thickened cream as well <\/span><\/p>\n

Looking at my brother he shrugs and says both is good<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking at all of us mum sighs and says – ok, roast tomorrow <\/span><\/p>\n

And there was much rejoicing<\/span><\/p>\n
